Proverbs 31 Challenge Day 11: Mental Strength

“She equips herself with strength [spiritual, mental, and physical fitness for her God-given task]

And makes her arms strong.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:17‬ ‭AMP‬‬

God is equally concerned about the state of our minds and thoughts as He is our actions and behaviors. To be truly excellence we must know how to take authority over our mental thought life.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,”

2 Corinthians 2:4-5

The slightest entertainment of a carnal thought can open a port hole for the enemy to begin to devour. How many times has a thought entered the mind and before long it had gone way left field? The imagination can run rampart detailing actions foreign to the faith of Christ and travel down to the heart. This is the true fight of faith and a battleground one must be equipped to tackle.

“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”

Proverbs 4:23

Meditating on, knowing and applying the Word of God is the weapon of choice to be used for battle. Coupled with prayer and obedience, the Word is crucial to sound mental health and perfectly aligns one with the will of God.

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Hebrews 4:12

The Proverbs woman knows to reach for the right weapon every time a battle presents itself. It is to her advantage and privilege to partner with God to bring mental stability to herself and home. Using the right weapon ensures we are not only equipped but prepared for battle and subsequent victorious ending.

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Romans 12:2
