Proverbs Challenge Day 25: Priority & Idleness

“She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The Proverbs woman completes the Lord’s plans for her life with a sense of urgency. She understands prioritizing the active, progressive Word is what strengthens her to operate in confidence and intentionality.

Remaining spiritually and physically idle however can question one’s purpose as the spirit yearns for progression and unity with the Spirit of the Lord. Commonly referred to as sluggish, slothfulness at the root is the misappropriation of priority. Life experiences and generational habits can imprint slothfulness one has to be intentionally freed from.

Are you in forward progression or idle in your walk with the Lord? The root of inaction (fear, anxiety, laziness, etc.) must be identified and agreed with the Word to progress with the Spirit. The prevalence of anxiety and frustration may be due to non urgent activities being given a priority place.

The Proverbs woman’s mind rests in the provision and protection of the Lord enabling her to be on active watch for her household. She understands that when focused on Him, everything aligns. She is not burdened as she has made the one who carries it all her main priority.

As excellent women the maturing of our spirit lives through relationship with Jesus Christ should be our highest priority. The Lord invites us into perfect fellowship but we have to intentionally place him as our main priority.

“The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.”

Proverbs 13:4 NKJV

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Matthew 6:33 NKJV
