Embracing Small Beginnings

“For who has despised the day of small things? For these seven rejoice to see The plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. They are the eyes of the LORD, Which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth.”” Zechariah 4:10 NKJV One day my mom and I had a conversation about heating up food. She informed me that as a child microwaves were yet to be invented and once they came into household use they were bulky, expensive and non-energy efficient. They were a step toward food heating but far from what we have in our kitchens today. Even with the microwaves’ initial bulky nature, the inventors took the first steps to create something without having the efficient tools we have today in the 21st century. They didn’t complain about a lack of time, money or resources. They simply used what used the resources and available technology to create a product that over time transformed life for millions of people. Is God tugging on your heart for you to move in a certain direction but you feel limited by the amount of time or resources needed to begin? It may be a new business, paying off debt or even just a closer walk with Him. You may not have all of the steps for a picture perfect start but the key is just to start. Like the early microwave, you may initially look out of place and be non efficient but overtime God will provide you wisdom and knowledge to refine your journey. Sometimes the faith move is just starting. If you are feeling a tug on your heart from the Lord to move toward a certain direction, just go for it. The finances, strategy and influence will come as you walk. Step out of your comfort zone, embrace the small beginnings of your journey and have faith that God will grant you wisdom, knowledge and favor along the way.
