Proverbs 31 Challenge Day 18: Preparedness

“She does not fear the snow for her household,

For all in her household are clothed in [expensive] scarlet [wool].”

Proverbs 31:21 NKJV

“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil,

for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

Psalm 23:4 NKJV

The Proverbs woman’s solid relationship with the Lord provides strength for a fearless journey. She is well informed and prepared for the children’s upcoming school projects, husband’s work obligations and personal affairs. With wisdom she glides through these responsibilities and the items required ensuring that when her household is in search for something she has it readily availability.

Forward thinking is apart of her wise financial stewardship. With budgeting and planning she plans purchases due to the growing needs of her family. She does not need to purchase items needed for the current weather season because she foresaw, budgeted and purchased the items two seasons ago!

The Proverbs woman is the type of shopper who buys the households’ winter coats at the end of winter clearance sale when everyone else is shopping for summer. Even a child’s growth spurt does not catch the Proverbs woman off guard as she has her children's next clothing sizes tucked away in storage bins.

Her sharp eye not only obtains items for the best price but ensures class and tastefulness enabling the household to look it's best. She is ready and prepared for it all.

“Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately."

Luke 12:35-36 NKJV

Contrarily a foolish woman lives day to day. She’s uninterested in planning for items that require long term budgeting and tries to escape her household duties. The future is overwhelming and she is unable to shield her family from evil.

“A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.”

Proverbs 27:12 NLT

Wisdom is key to the household’s provision and protection ensuring the family is equipped for whatever lies ahead. As excellent woman we have the continued honor to partner with God to ensure our household’s needs never go unmet.
