Proverbs 31 Challenge Day 27: Authority

November 27, 2019

“Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.”

Proverbs 31:29 NKJV

The Bible makes mention of several women in the bible known for their great works:

Miriam led a nation’s women in praise of God. Exodus 15

Deborah was a key military advisor. Judges 4

Queen Esther sacrificed her life for the Jewish people. Esther 4

How is the Proverbs woman stated to have “excelled them all” including these great women? By her fear of the Lord coupled with the spiritual authority she has as a daughter of Christ. Spiritual authority does not lie in one’s experience, money, bloodline or college degree but in Christ Jesus. Once Christ is accepted as Savior, one is no longer subject to the enemy’s power and has the authority of Christ.

“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:13-14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:5-7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

By authority, one can speak “Lord, I command and declare divine protection over my home and family” and it will be so. Why? Exercise of God given authority is completed and activated by faith. If doubt of the Lord’s ability exists, one's authority becomes null and void.

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Romans 10:17 NKJV

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Hebrews 11:1 NKJV

Christ has given us the keys to the kingdom to move mountains but they must be sought by seeking the Lord. Earthy treasurers are no match for what is stored up for people who are willing to crucify their flesh for the pursuit of Christ. This is why the flesh must be crucified daily to maintain the proper posture of authority of the Lord. If operating in a place of sin, authority is limited. The Lord wants us free not solely for our own sake but others around us. Why give the enemy a foothold if you have authority over him?

“And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.””

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16:19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Neither give place to the devil.”

Ephesians 4:27 NKJV

““The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The Lord has given everyone a distinct gift to add to the kingdom of God. Regardless of the calling we are to use our authority to bring heaven to earth. Take ownership of the Word and apply your authority! Abide in the word. Gain strength from the Lord. Go in power and authority.

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.””

‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:18-20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
