A Solid Yes: The Act of Surrendering

When we enter an airplane we place our total trust in the flight crew to get us to our intended destination. No one questions the pilot on how it’s going to happen or the number of flight miles he has flown, everyone trusts without doubt that the airplane will arrive safely.

God desires this same level of trust and surrender with Him. He doesn’t want us to trust halfway with one foot in the world and one foot with him. He wants us to be full in.

Full into His plan.

Full into His way of life.

Full into His thoughts and actions.

Imagine if someone was debating entering an aircraft with one foot on the plane and the other on the jet bridge (the movable, enclosed connector extending from the airport terminal to the airplane). They would likely hurt themselves and hold up the other passengers waiting to enter the plane.

When we do not fully surrender to Christ we are “like a double minded man who is unstable in all his ways." (James 1:8) We try to figure out things we were never intended to carry out on our own causing anxiety and frustration. In the long term not submitting to Christ delay experiencing the fullness of life in Christ and hold up the people around us including our family! There may be an entire generation of people behind us awaiting a solid “Yes” to Christ.

Yes to surrendering personal will for His.

Yes to rising early to spend time with Him for the next steps.

Yes to sustainable peace and joy.

Yes to the kingdom of God.

Today examine yourself to determine if you have a full “Yes” to Christ. If He has been pulling at you in certain areas just surrender. Your life will never be the same once you surrender with your whole heart.

““If you would prepare your heart, And stretch out your hands toward Him;

‭‭Job‬ ‭11:13 ‭

“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

James 4:7

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

James 1:22
